Welcome to Year 10, Line A, PE.

This semester I would like you to become familiar with wikispaces, in particular this one. We shall be using this a lot as a part of our class communication. You are more than welcome to introduce your parents to the page as well.
The basic concpet behind this wikispace is that you will become the designers (to a degree) of your own class material.

Each Unit of work will become a link page on our wikispace.
Each student will be expected to assign themselves to be responsible for a minimum of one sport. The level of responsibility I require of you will be explained further in class and will vary slightly with each sport.

The main expectations are:
  • Brief history of the sport and any particular Australian special interest information you think we should all be aware of.
  • Brief, but thorough summary of the rules of 'play' for our class and or mainstream competition rules.
  • Relevant, interesting pictures (not too many).
  • NO wikipedia downloads or links.
  • All information taken from a site, "You Tube" etc, must be referenced / citated or include the site link. (Do not load up all the extraneous extras that come on the You Tube page).
  • Class competition draws and score tables, regularly updated for all class members to check progress.
  • Each group can personalise their page, in particular your names should be a part of the heading.
Each person's work is "tagged' for me to see, so if someone in the group does not 'pull their weight' so to speak I will ultimately be the first person to be notified and thus it will be easy for me to assign grades appropriately.
Our wiki is to become a daily place you should visit and check in on to make sure you have not missed vital information, but WILL NOT be a gossip medium. It is NO way a 'blog' or 'Facebook' concept, it is an educational tool.

As mentioned all information placed on these pages will be tagged with the senders name and viewed by myself (the page organiser). There is a "Discussion Box", which I hope we all access and use in an appropriate manner with constructive advice, sensible suggestions etc. It is a communication tool and as such has certain assumed moral obligations attached.

When we are involved in our theory unit, I shall have a link page labeled relevant to our topic and all theory assignments, homework etc will be written up here. It will be the responsibility of each individual to stop in at the 'space' to find out; what, when and how I want things done and complete them on time, Ignorance will NOT be an acceptable excuse for anyone this year.

Once assignments etc are loaded to the "Drop Box", all assignments will be sent through for me to mark. Make sure you attach the Final copy, not the draft.

We shall go through this in more detail in class.
